BAA Training is to open a new training centre near Barcelona–El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport in Spain.
BAA Training Spain will have a 5300sqm training centre with new training equipment, classrooms, briefing rooms and a lounge. It will operate seven full flight simulators by 2023, says BAA.
An Airbus A320ceo full flight simulator is on track to be ready for training in August, while a second, for a Boeing 737NG, is planned to start operation in September.
With all seven simulators in operation, BAA Training Spain will have the annual capacity for more than 51,000 flight training hours and recurrent pilot training for 6,000 pilots.
“Over the past few years BAA Training has been taking strategic development steps by adding additional training locations in Spain,” said Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO at BAA Training.
“With the already operating two ab initio flight bases in Spain, and the modern FFS training centre, BAA Training has created an aviation training hub in Spain, ready to accommodate any airline pilot training needs within our developed cadet, MPL or other training programmes.”
