Cotswold Airport has announced the return of its renowned Aviation Scholarship for 2023.
Set to begin on Monday, 31 July, the week-long program is designed to provide young aviation enthusiasts with unique opportunities to jumpstart their careers in the field.
Eight fortunate scholars will be granted exclusive access to on-site aviation companies, offering a comprehensive look at various aspects of the industry. They will explore engineering sites responsible for crafting components, receive an introduction to airport firefighting, attend talks on military operations and related career paths, learn about air traffic service provisions and the array of services offered, and connect with companies at the forefront of innovative design and development in aviation.
The scholarship program also includes an introduction to flight training, made possible by the collaboration of dedicated flying schools based at Cotswold Airport. Participants will have the chance to experience a variety of flights, including microlights, light aircraft, and helicopters. Additionally, scholars will engage in simulator sessions to further explore the possibilities within the General Aviation community.
Applicants between the ages of 15 and 18 who reside in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, or Oxfordshire are encouraged to apply. No prior aviation experience or background in flying is necessary.
