easyJet has announced a new sustainability vision for its holidays division: all its holidays will directly support sustainable practices by the end of 2025.
It follows research which shows that 71% of Brits say sustainability is an important factor when booking a holiday, with 22% saying it’s very important.
The airline has created a roadmap of short, medium and long-term actions to embed sustainability into the company’s culture and business decisions over the next five years.
The new strategy is focused on three core pillars:
- Create better holiday choices making sustainable travel affordable and accessible to everyone
- Maximising the benefits and minimising the negative impacts of travel and tourism including a commitment to support hotels it works with
- Embedding sustainability into business decisions and behaviours and driving meaningful change in the industry.
easyJet is already offsetting carbon emissions associated with its holidays, ie, fuel from its flights, transfers and energy from hotel stays.
