FTA has announced a new Economy Integrated Flight Deck Programme option, to complement the existing and popular Integrated Flight Deck Programme. The new Economy option is priced at £64,950; £5,000 less than the standard Integrated Flight Deck Programme.
The lower cost has been achieved by replacing 105 hours of Diamond DA40 aircraft time with 105 hours of Piper PA28 time.
The change in price and aircraft for 105 hours of training is the only difference; the courses are identical in all other aspects. The economy course will still deliver a full Frozen ATPL training course that’s 100% UK based. This programme can also be combined with the degree element (which comes at an extra cost £6,000 for the degree, paid directly to Bucks New University). A student loan might also be available for qualifying students, for up to £12,000 towards the course, when combined with a degree, which means that the initial course cost reduces further to £58,950.
Jonathan Candelon, Managing Director at FTA, explained, ‘This new course option is the result of extensive research, consultation and understanding of the flight training market and consumer needs.
‘We’re responding to the current market situation with innovative and forward thinking products. On a wider scale it’s about FTA’s continued commitment to making pilot careers as accessible as possible to all and democratising commercial flight training.’
He added, ‘FTA is able to offer this Economy course option by replacing 105 hours of Diamond DA40 aircraft time with 105 hours of Piper PA28 time’, says James Bashford, Head of Training at FTA. ‘For prospective cadets, having access to a course £5,000 less than the already highly competitive standard Flight Deck Programme course could make that key difference that helps them get into training.’
