Funding from the government may be available for unemployed pilots to pay for licence revalidation and medical renewal.
Pilot support organisation, Resilient Pilot, working with its training partners has created bespoke, regulated pilot performance programmes as recommended by the UK CAA.
The programmes are available for both type rated and non-rated pilots and are recognised by the UK’s Dept of Work and Pensions (DWP) which means that eligible pilots may be able to access funding to cover the costs.
To find out whether you ar eligible, contact your DWP Job Coach to enquire further and direct them to Resilient Pilot’s dedicated Job Coach pages here.
Pilot Performance Programme
The Resilient Pilot Performance Programme was created for pilots who are not currently operational to ensure them retain their skills, medical and currency in readiness for a return to flying as job opportunities return.
The programme focuses on three key pillars:
- Keeping pilots supported through the provision of free mentoring, peer support and well-being guidance
- Keeping pilots current by regularly refreshing pilot competencies, technical and non-technical skills; and ensuring the all-important LPC and annual medical checks are covered
- Keeping pilots connected through the provision of regular webinars on industry related topics; and employability workshops.
