Helicentre Aviation Academy has unveiled new sponsorship opportunities for aspiring rotary instructors, building on the success of its previous programme.
The initiative offers sponsored training for qualified commercial helicopter pilots (CPL(H)) to become flight instructors. This announcement comes as the academy prepares to welcome applicants for its 2024 programme, with training beginning as early as April.
Since the start of its scholarship programmes in 2012, Helicentre Aviation Academy has committed over £1 million to support pilot training through scholarships, bursaries, and sponsorships. Over the last two years, six flight instructors have benefited from this initiative, embarking on careers as full-time instructors and playing their part in training the next generation of helicopter pilots.
The 2024 FI(H) sponsorship is accessible to individuals who either currently hold a commercial helicopter pilot licence or are nearing the completion of their CPL(H). Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and be willing to train at any designated location within the country. Upon successful completion of their training, the new instructors will be positioned at either Leicester Airport or London Oxford Airport, where they will embark on their teaching careers.
The application period runs from 1 February to 1 March 2024. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to a selection process starting the week of 11 March, to be held at the academy’s facilities at Leicester Airport.
Applications for this programme should be made at flyheli.co.uk/fi-sponsorship.
