Helicentre Aviation Academy has ordered an Entrol H19/AW109 SP FNPT II MCC simulator, meaning the Leicester-based ATO can offer advanced courses such as the MCC (Multi-Crew Co-operation).
The Entrol AW109 simulator will provide students with a realistic experience transitioning to the aircraft, with additional features such as a vibration system, instructor debriefing station, cylindrical visual system with an extended vertical field of view, and IOS remote control.
Sarah Bowen, Helicentre Aviation’s Head of Training and Director of Business Development, said, “We are committed to investing in innovation and technology so we can continue to offer the best and most up to date simulation experience to our trainee helicopter pilots.”
Graduates of Helicentre Aviation’s ‘ab-initio to professional pilot’ training have gone into a variety of commercial multi-crew roles, primarily into the offshore sector. The purchase of the new simulator builds on Helicentre’s expansion last year, when it obtained CAA approval for the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating alongside the purchase of a Leonardo AW109 to offer MEIR and type ratings courses.
Helicentre Aviation is Entrol’s first UK customer, with the AW109 being their first to be installed and certified in the United Kingdom.
