Helicentre Aviation will be hosting three Careers Days in May with industry partner Bristow Helicopters.
The careers days will be 15, 16 and 17 May at Helicentre’s Leicester Airport bas. They will also be the first in-person careers events the Academy has hosted on-site since the pandemic.
Senior personnel from Bristow will be present, speaking to both prospective future aviators and existing pilots about pathways into rotary flying careers.
The first day, Sunday 15th, will be open to participants of all experience levels, with a seminar programme and the opportunity to tour Helicentre’s training facilities. A limited number of introductory flying lessons will be on offer to those who have not previously flown a helicopter, and additionally a possible visit from a Bristow helicopter (subject to operational commitments).
Introducing future helicopter pilots to Offshore and SAR (Search and Rescue) careers at an early stage is something both companies are eager to encourage. There is an ever increasing shortage of suitably qualified helicopter pilots across the industry, and a lack of awareness surrounding the pathways into helicopter careers, despite the training sponsorships and scholarship initiatives both companies have invested heavily in for many years.
The second day of the event, Monday 16th, provides an opportunity for student helicopter pilots already undergoing training at Helicentre to learn more about Bristow and the roles available once qualified.
The final day, Tuesday 17th, is for pilots already holding a professional licence and looking to investigate career opportunities with Bristow, a global leader in vertical flight.
Slots will be limited, said Helicentre. To apply for a place please visit flyheli.uk/careers-days and complete a simple registration form. Successful applicants will be contacted with an allocated date and time.
