L-3 Communications, an American aerospace and communications contractor, has acquired UK-headquartered CTC Aviation, a global airline pilot training and resourcing specialist. This acquisition expands L-3’s Commercial Aviation Training portfolio that also includes L-3 Link UK – a provider of flight training simulation devices to airline and third-party training company customers.
CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK will retain their individual brands as independent operational entities, while continuing to focus on and serve all their existing customers and markets.
The collaboration of the two businesses enables new and innovative solutions to airline pilot training, graduate placement services and flight simulation equipment. These solutions will span the entire spectrum of their customers’ needs delivering unique and innovative solutions: an unmatched value proposition with a strong emphasis on customer service.
A statement from CTC Aviation explained that of particular significance will be the further expansion of airline relationships for ab initio graduate placement opportunities, coupled with further investment in latest-generation training devices for the delivery of future airline pilot training.
