L3 Airline Academy is working with British Airways to offer its cadet pilots the opportunity to be preselected for a British Airways First Officer position while still completing their airline pilot career programme.
The opportunity is currently exclusive to L3 Airline Academy Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) trainees.
“We are very excited to be working with British Airways to bring more high-quality cadet pilots to the airline in 2018 and provide unrivalled airline pilot placement opportunities for our graduates,” said Anthony Petteford, vice president and principal of L3 Airline Academy.
Naida Sehovic, pilot recruitment manager at British Airways, added, “British Airways continues to require the highest-calibre candidates for its modern fleet, and this opportunity will enable more enthusiastic and capable trainee pilots to realise their ambition to join an airline that seeks to be the most admired across the world.”
Cadets who train via the Integrated ATPL route and meet the required standard will have the exclusive opportunity to take part in an initial assessment with British Airways following the completion of ATPL Theoretical Knowledge examinations, which take place over the first six months of training.
The highest-performing candidates will receive a conditional offer to join British Airways as a First Officer on its Airbus fleet at London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports upon completion of their training with L3 Airline Academy.
Those cadets who are successful through the initial assessment will be invited to an interview and simulator assessment toward the end of their training.
