Oxford-based training school Leading Edge Aviation is offering three bursaries towards the cost of its integrated ATPL plus degree course.
The Leading Edge Airline Pilot (LEAP) programme leads to a Frozen ATPL(A), and includes both an APS MCC course and a BSc degree in Commercial Pilot Training with Transport Management. Its normal cost is £99,500.
The three bursaries are 1 x £20k, 1x £10k and 1x £5k) towards the price of the full-time EASA integrated LEAP.
To be eligible, candidates must fulfil the criteria set by Leading Edge and must apply for, pay for, and successfully complete a Leading Edge Skills Assessment.
All applicants who pass the Skills Assessment will be entered into the ballot for a bursary award. Awards will be announced in January 2020 and bursary recipients must begin their training course between 1 September 2019 and 31 May 2020.
Main criteria:
- Current European passport holder
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English, maths and a science, preferably physics
- At least age 17.5 at the time of taking the Leading Edge Skills Assessment, which must be passed by 31 December 2019
- Aged 18 and hold a Class 1 medical at the start of training
