The new aeronautical campus, Axarquia Aviation Park, being built at Velez Malaga aerodrome in Spain for the training of pilots, cabin crew and maintenance technicians, has just had a Simloc A320 flight simulator installed.
The flight training device is an A320 with FTD1 certification level. The set is made up of a large fibreglass hemispherical module a full seven metres in diameter by four metres in height.
The sim includes a fully immersive and functional A320 replica cabin plus a direct vision system of three HD projectors with a continuous semi-cylindrical screen three metres high. It offers a field of view of 180º x 40º for each pilot plus a sound system and a training station.
Within the training station, Simloc has created a comprehensive management software called Simulator Management Control Suite which assists the operator in managing all simulator functions such as user management and control, programming and scheduling of sessions, session debriefing or maintenance incident management, among many other functions.
The flight model, systems and procedures of the new A320 FTD are based on the Airbus Data Package (SSP), which achieves dynamic behaviour similar to a real aircraft.
The sim has an automated ATC simulation programme, with artificial intelligence, so that students can become familiar with air traffic communications.
“Axarquía Aviation Park is a dream come true and the Simloc A320 simulator is our springboard to the future,” said Juan Manuel Martín, CEO of Aerodynamics Academy behind Axarquia Aviation Park.
Carlos Pérez, CEO of Simloc, said, “Our FTD will be operating at the first aeronautical campus in Spain and Europe, a reference facility, in a privileged location, which will be an unbeatable showroom for our products.”
