Global Aviation SA was founded by a group of aviation experts and is the oldest pilot academy in Greece. Having its administrative and ground school base in Athens and its flying base in the Civil Aviation Airport of Pachi, Megara (LGMG), Global Flight Academy has been training pilots for private and commercial courses, since 1997, when it was approved by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA). Global Aviation has a mission of offering top-quality services in the fields of, pilot and cabin crew training, aircraft maintenance and aircraft sales, based on three fundamental principles: Safety, Quality, and Honesty.
Global Aviation is the market leader in pilot training in Greece having a domestic market share of over 60%. Furthermore, our international student programme has been very successful, having trained students from the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East. Global Aviation’s graduates are awarded with an EASA pilot’s license, fully recognized in all 32 EASA member states. An EASA license holder can fly in all EASA and JAA member states, without any license conversion procedure.
During the last 5 years, more than 1000 students have graduated from Global Aviation’s commercial airplane pilot courses and are now employed by various operators around the world, including, among others, Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, Ryanair, Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways, Wizz Air, Easyjet etc. The organisation’s safety track record is impeccable, and all operations (including maintenance) have been inspected periodically by EASA and found to operate above industry standards.
The Academy is culture-oriented, offering to local and international students the opportunity to co-exist and cooperate despite their cultural differences. This is very important since graduate pilots will likely have to work with people of diverse cultures throughout their career.
Global Aviation’s Unique Competitive Advantages:
- Superior Fleet of Piper and Cessna Aircraft and Flight Simulators (Elite Evolution S923 FNTPII MCC, Elite Evolution S812 FNTP II and Simnest’s SN_A32 FNPT II MCC Simulator).
- Continuous availability of Multi-Engine Airplanes which guarantees uninterrupted flight training.
- In-house Maintenance Center approved by EASA and Piper. (Piper Service Center).
- Pachi Airport, which is located near the region of Central Greece sees great weather throughout the year and is located only 30 km from Athens (capital of Greece). Central Greece, even during the winter months, does not experience any snowfall and visibility/fog issues, whereas Northern Greece has very low temperatures and extensive visibility issues in the winter. Furthermore, Pachi airport is a general aviation dedicated airport with no commercial flights interfering with training.
- One of the most important milestones of Global Aviation, has been the acquisition of a private airfield dedicated to our ATO’s pilot training needs. The airfield, situated just north of Athens, is scheduled to be operational in the summer of 2022, making Global Aviation one of the few, if not the only, ATO in Europe with a private airfield ideal for ab initio pilot training.
- Global Aviation’s Head Office and its Ground school are based in the cosmopolitan city of Athens.
- Affiliations with real estate agencies and hotels near the ground school base enable the school to offer top quality, tailor-made, all-inclusive housing packages for local and international students.
- Global Aviation’s personnel (managers, instructors, and engineers) have extensive experience in training professional pilots and taking care of the unique needs of local and international students.
- Our culturally diverse business environment facilitates the co-existence and cooperation between local and international students despite their cultural differences and encourages them to strive for excellence.
- Greece holds its place as one of the most beautiful countries in the world with wonderful cities, islands, and countryside. During flight training, students will have the chance to visit several of these sights, thus making training a much more enjoyable experience.
