Visitors to Pilot Careers Live London on 5 November at the Sofitel Hotel, T5 LHR, will have the chance to try out a variety of virtual reality flight experiences, thanks to Aviation Skills Partnership and FTA.
Alex O’Loughlin of FTA explains, “We plan to have a Virtual Reality-themed stand with Oculus headsets and Samsung Gears so that the young pilots can experience a lesson right there at the stand.” The ‘360°’ material that the training organisation has already shared has been incredibly popular, and Alex hopes that the simulation and experience will offer something new to those attending the event. A few examples can be found here.
Another exhibitor sharing virtual experiences with visitors to the show is the Aviation Skills Partnership. Their stand will showcase augmented reality technology, allowing attendees to interact with a digital 3D model of a glider, and, using 360° headsets, attendees will be able to experience sky-high stunts, all from the comfort of the exhibition.
The 360° videos will also be offered through the Youth Aviation app, which can be downloaded for free at youthaviation.co.uk.
