Wizz Air has entered into a partnership with Urbe Aero Flight Academy, a flight training organisation based in Italy.
The collaboration aims to offer a cutting-edge training program for aspiring commercial pilots, creating career opportunities for students upon completion.
The alliance positions Urbe Aero as Wizz Air’s training partner in Italy and the jointly developed Wizz Air Pathway Programme aims to meet the challenge of the growing demand for professional pilots. This program promises to transform young cadets into highly qualified professionals equipped with the necessary technical and personal skills.
Under the guidance of Wizz Air’s training standards and requirements, Urbe Aero will tailor an integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) course. The recruitment process involves an aptitude selection at Wizz Air’s headquarters, jointly conducted by Wizz Air and Urbe Aero. Following successful selection, trainees demonstrating above-average performance will receive a conditional job offer before starting the ATPL training course at Urbe Aero Flight Academy.
The partners say that the program provides various benefits, not least of which is the opportunity of becoming a Wizz Air pilot. In addition, no prior flying experience is required for enrollment, although credits are available for Private Pilot Licence (PPL) holders. The only prerequisites are a high school degree, being at least 18 years old, and having a valid EASA class 1 medical certificate. Wizz Air has confirmed that it will be financing the APS MCC and the A320 Type Rating training.
