Rapidly expanding Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has selected an extra tranche of pilots from the L3 Airline Academy who have recently graduated with an ATPL.
The successful graduates will complete the Wizz Air A320 type rating at L3 CTS’s Southampton Training Centre before starting their professional flying career, from Wizz Air’s 28 European bases.
L3 CTS has worked with the airline to provide pilot training and career opportunities since launching the Wizz Air Cadet program in 2015. However, this latest announcement introduces new opportunities specifically for pilots graduating from L3’s Integrated ATPL programme.
“We are delighted to offer our graduating pilots the fantastic opportunity to launch their airline pilot career with Wizz Air,” said Robin Glover-Faure, acting president of L3 CTS.
József Ujhelyi, Chief Flight Operations Officer at Wizz Air, said, “In 2018, we look forward to receiving our 100th aircraft, as well as creating 1,300 incremental jobs by the end of the year, while continuing to expand our network and increase the number of routes we operate across Europe. Our relationship with L3 CTS represents our commitment to investing in talent to support our strategic growth plan.”
